Just to be clear - ALL Scherzinger flow dividers have innate corrosion protection designed into them. Our flow dividers come standard with nodular cast iron housings, stainless steel internals, heat treated rotating components and additional tungsten carbide protection of gears, shafts, bearings and rings.
However, there are some applications with specific conditions, where the fuel will react with the casing material, causing deposits to occur on the rotating internals, and the flow divider will cease-up. Thankfully, the causes can generally be narrowed down to the specific:
- Operating mode of turbine is elementary if:
- Continuous operation on liquid fuel
- Dual fuel / intermittent operation
- Operated with liquid fuel
- Type of fuel (distillate, heavy fuel, naphtha)
- Content of water in the fuel or even demineralized water (e.g. flushing circuits)
- Chances of getting corrosive particles into the Flow Divider from outside
